If you are interested in motoring, don't forget to visit the Beaulieu International Autojumble which is taking place this weekend the 10th & 11th September 2011.
Why not get off the train at Southampton Station and use one of the White Licensed Taxi's to take you to Beaulieu and maybe book a return trip !
Whilst there you may want to visit Beaulieu Motor Museum or even Bucklers Hard - ask a Southampton Taxi driver for advice !
Heavy traffic predicted for Saturday's visit of four Cruise Liners.
Also preparations going ahead for the Southampton Boat Show to start later this month.
In September 1969 the first Southampton Boat Show took place.
A Southampton Hackney Association member can recall when his parents sold raffle tickets on behalf of the Southampton Lions at this boat show.
"It won't last long", they said. Here we are forty two years later and it's still going strong........What an achievement.
How many of you can remember the Itchen Bridge in Southampton being constructed ?
There was a man in a small dingy, who rowed from one side of the Itchen River to the other, collecting bits and pieces that used to fall from the bridge when it was being built !!
Does anybody know how much the bridge toll was when it first opened in 1977?
Hopefully these brighter lights will make it safer for drivers and pedestrians crossing the bridge, particularly during the winter months.
