Also preparations going ahead for the Southampton Boat Show to start later this month.

In September 1969 the first Southampton Boat Show took place.

A Southampton Hackney Association member can recall when his parents sold raffle tickets on behalf of the Southampton Lions at this boat show. 

"It won't last long", they said.  Here we are forty two years later and it's still going strong........What an achievement.
